I am Keerthi Kiran, I work as a consultant at Ashoka:Innovators for the public in the Full Economic Citizenship division. My work involves working on market-based solutions for bringing affordable housing to low-income communities.
I am also the Co-founder and Director of a non-profit for-impact organization called Yofa (Short for Youth Factor). As director my responsibilites include strategy, program planning and day to day management of Yofa. Yofa works on exciting projects to engage young people into social action. I served as the founding program director for Yofa’s flagship program Grassroutes. Grassroutes is a fellowship program for young people to travel to rural India discover and work with changemakers, live with the community, do their bit to change the world. In the process discover the changemaker within and to use stories from their journey to inspires other youth into social action.
In my previous avatar I worked with India’s fastest growing analytics firm – Mu Sigma. Here I worked with US retail giants in providing analytical solutions and frameworks for business problems.
I have a B.E(Hons.) Electronics & Instrumentation degree from BITS-Pilani. I have been selected as Paragon100 fellow for 2010, one of Asia’s most inspiring entrepreneurs and social changemakers. Also I was selected as a StartingBloc Boston 2010 fellow, StartingBloc educates, inspires and connects emerging leaders to drive social innovation across sectors from around the world.
I have given talks on development sector, entrepreneurship and youth at various forums and share a deep interest in start-ups. For more details about me, you could read my backstory.
