Backstory

Keerthi Kiran (Keeki, Keki, Kiki) hails from Hyderabad, India. He completed his engineering in Electronics and Instrumentation from BITS – Pilani. Inspite of his (mis)adventures, he successfully graduated as a first class engineer. However, for the larger good, he decided to stay away from electronics.
During his college years, he realized his love for businesses and numbers. His first job landed him at Mu sigma as a business analyst. His work brought him to Bangalore and he is happy with the place and the people (excluding those Auto drivers). He in the month of October 09 decided to spice it up a bit by following the force. He quit a job he loved till the last day (Cross my heart).
Keeki moonlights works with a bunch of friends on their social venture called Yofa (Youth Factor). They dream of creating a platform to engage youth of this country into social action. They have taken their first step by launching an initiative called Grassroutes, which provides youth an opportunity to go on road-trips to discover change-makers at the grassroots, work with them, bring back stories of social change and use them to inspire a larger section of the youth into action. He believes in the power of youth and thinks that with energy, enthusiasm and idealism, they can bring about the change which a lot of us merely talk about! After three and half years of running the organization he has transitioned out of his current role, but he still continues to play an active role as Director in deciding the future course of YoFa and Grassroutes.
In October 2011, he joined Ashoka: Innovators for the public, a global non-profit, to work in their Full Economic Citizenship division. He works on market-based solutions to bring affordable housing to low-income segments using Hybrid Value Chain framework.
He is highly opinionated and he is always open to ideas and marathon discussions. He loves chatting up on issues across the spectrum. His latest interests include Social media, American Politics and startups. He is always excited to work on/work in/talk about a startup.
He enjoys traveling across the country side, he believes traveling gives one new experiences and fresh insights. He also likes reading books, biographies in particular. Long walks and rains are things that he looks forward to. His taste in music and movies are a bit unpredictable, he enjoys theen maar Telugu beat as well as Beatles and he is a Shahrukh fan who waits for next Mani Ratnam classic.
Some day he plans to use his experience with relationships to script at least couple of Hindi movies. He is in the process of figuring out his niche in this domain as well.
He is a signatory of ’First don’t hurt’ philosophy. If he does hurt, he would make sure he apologizes at the earliest. He has played the role of agony uncle with distinction, but due to the misleading looks he is gifted with, the title may have to be corrected to an agony kid.
He loves new ideas and coffee. He believes that they make for a brilliant combo. If you believe likewise, give him a buzz and he’ll catch up with you in a coffee shop nearby!
I highly recommend him. One in a million!
